I’m Christine, children’s book author.
My stories are inspired by Zimbabwe and the African continent in general. I’m a tea drinker ( hot tea only), podcast fanatic, and I love all things entrepreneurial.
Oh, my noodles! Makanaka just got a message from her friend, Nadia. She’s inviting Makanaka to visit her—in Morocco!
Fari and Makanaka quickly take off for Casablanca. But when they arrive, they discover that Nadia has a problem. Someone has taken her team’s soccer ball! Can Makanaka and Fari help Nadia’s team solve the mystery?

“My writing was inspired by my daughter Jillian Makanaka.”
“I was initially trying to create simple stories to help her learn my native language Shona, spoken in Zimbabwe. The name Makanaka means you’re beautiful or you’re awesome.
Now my goal with this series is to allow kids to go on adventures with Makanaka, learn some geography along the way and a thing or two about other cultures. Of course I didn’t stop there. I went ahead and created a company. After all we live in a global world and what better time than at this age for kids to embrace that concept and what it truly means to be a global citizen.”
