Finally, my first blog post…
It only took me a year to activate this url, but I’m sure there’s a reason why the time for it is now. As you know by now, I’m a children’s book author, a podcast geek and lover of the entrepreneurial world. I’m going to share my writing journey as well as my publishing journey. The publishing part feeds into the very core part of me that wants so badly to be a bonafide entrepreneur, lol. I publish my work under my small press, Global Kid House, with the help of an awesome team of editors and designers.
At the moment I’m focused on writing books inspired by my home country (Zimbabwe) and the African continent. The thought of being able to instill pride in my brothers and sisters, while at the same time sharing with rest of the world the Africa they don’t normally hear about, excites me to no end.
Independent publishing has come a long way and I’m fortunate enough to have jumped in at the perfect time. The plethora of resources and information available make it difficult to not produce highly quality books. If you’re considering indie-publishing feel free to give me a shout. Otherwise, if you’re looking for traditional publishing tips please reach out as well. I’m happy to connect you with the right people that can help you accomplish your goal.
If you’re into podcasts and tech, check out the podcast “Masters of Scale” by Reid Hoffman. Episode 1 with Airbnb’s Brian Chesky is my all time favorite. 🙂
